Hi, I’m Izzy Skarzynski.
Hi, I’m Izzy the owner and head trainer at IzzyFit Training LLC. I started my fitness business in 2018 after college. I’ve always been passionate about fitness and health, but as I grew into adulthood I realized just how under -utilized, -valued, and -estimated fitness was, and its benefits are lost to many.
My fitness background began with dance and gymnastic classes as a kid, then I shifted to Martial Arts as a tween and young adult. I have two black belts in Tang Soo Do Karate, and taught for 10 years and trained for 15 years.
As I got to college, and during my time in higher education, my focus shifted to women’s health and labor. I have a BA in Media Studies, where I did my thesis on women’s magazines messaging impact on teen girls’ self-image. I also have an MA in Women’s Studies, where I studied the role of female labor in the system of food production.
In my free time, I enjoy running, rock climbing, biking, strength training, and hiking with my dog, Ginger. And a few of my favorite hobbies are bead working/making jewelry, brewing hard cider, and traveling by plane or car for long distance adventures!
My Approach
My training approach centers on building functional strength from the inside out, starting with a strong core as the foundation for whole-body strength. I prioritize exercises that mimic real-life movements, aiming to enhance daily function, movement, and improve overall quality of life.
With a kind, supportive, encouraging, adaptive, firm approach, I’m here to hold you accountable while making training fun and functional. I will challenge you to push past your limits, helping you reach new heights in strength, flexibility, mobility, and confidence. My goal is to not only to build physical resilience but also cultivate self-efficacy, empowering you to feel stronger and more capable in every aspect of life.
Functional Fitness
I choose exercises that aim to improve functionality and quality of life. When programming for clients, my focus is on their goal and their daily movements. I select exercises that compliment real-life motions and improve strength.
Functional fitness its meant to enhance your life beyond the gym. Whether it's carrying groceries in one trip, lifting your kids or grandkids, or improving stability to reduce daily aches, this style of training serves a practical purpose.
Core Strength
I emphasize core strength because of its critical role in injury prevention and reducing pains, improving posture, and overcoming incontinence. Think of a tree trunk and its branches. The trunk must be strong in order for the branches to stand tall and withstand the weather.
Who do i work with?
I work with individuals, families, couples, and small groups.
I work with motivated individuals who are looking for accountability, guidance, knowledge, and support.
